Town Hall: Boards/Committees

Board of Adjustment

The Board of Adjustment hears development applications that are not in compliance with the zoning regulations. These may include simple variance requests for setbacks on residential properties to large commercial projects for which the proposed use is not permitted. The board hears testimony and renders a decision based on the best interest of the township and its residents.

The board is made up of seven regular members plus two alternates. Regular members serve 4-year staggered terms; the alternates serve two years. Note that alternates only vote when a quorum of regular members is not present.

The Board of Adjustment holds its regularly scheduled meetings on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Please note, however, that when the board doesn’t have a full schedule, it will meet only once a month, on the fourth Thursday. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and are held at Town Hall, 502 Millbrook Avenue in Randolph.

An agenda for each regular meeting—which contains the items to be considered by the board—is posted here as well as on the bulletin board at Town Hall.
