Position Park Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities: Supervise and administer multi-faceted park maintenance department. Duties include the supervision and evaluation of full- and part-time staff. Develop and process work orders and task lists to maintain all facilities. In conjunction with the director, coordinate and convey the needs of the parks to residents, staff and facility user groups. Embrace and enforce a standard of excellence to meet community expectations.

Keep records associated with state and local laws. Communicate and work with all municipal departments. Have knowledge of and work in various trades such as plumbing, electricity, auto mechanics, carpentry and landscaping, etc. Assist in the establishment and enforcement of all policies and procedures for all facilities and activities. Assist in conducting special events and activities. Develop a system for ordering supplies and equipment on a timely basis. Work under the administrative direction of the director of parks, recreation and community services. Perform other duties as needed. Evening and weekend hours may be required as assigned.

Qualifications: Experience in park maintenance operations and services. High school diploma required, advanced education including, but not limited to, trade or technical school desired.

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a wide range of staff, officials, residents and volunteers. Capable of managing workforce as a team, and developing a training program for new staff.
  • Ability to organize and supervise multiple projects and services simultaneously. Ability to be proactive in the development/redevelopment, maintenance and operation of all municipal parks and trails. Ability to gather, record and analyze information concerning park maintenance operations.
  • Knowledge of park maintenance management and turf care. Knowledge of federal, state and local agencies.
  • On-call for emergency situations. Available to attend parks advisory committee meetings on an as-needed basis.
  • NJ pesticide applicator’s license, turf (minimum level).
  • Valid NJ driver’s license with ability to drive various trucks, landscaping equipment and construction vehicles.
Starting Salary Salary based upon experience.

Position Fleet Mechanic

The Randolph Township Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of fleet mechanic. This is a full time position with benefits. Applicants should have experience in maintenance and repair of light duty trucks, heavy duty trucks, construction equipment and police cars. Experience in electrical systems, hydraulic systems, diesel engines and welding is preferred. ASE certified, Class A Tech certified is preferred. CDL Class “B” driver’s license with air brake endorsement a plus.
