Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library is a group of citizens in our community who share a common concern for our library’s active participation in community life. They also have a common conviction that an active, vital library is an important asset to the community. Money raised by the Friends helps purchase materials and fund programs beyond those provided by the library’s annual budget.
Services & Events Supported by the Friends
- bi-annual used book sales with Friday night preview sales for members
- “Welcome Baby Gift Bags” for Randolph newborns with baby’s first board book and information about literacy and library services for children
- flower displays inside and outside of the library
- canvas tote bags for all kindergarteners who come in with their class on their first school visit
- social events to encourage friendships among members
Used Book Sales in 2008
- Saturday and Sunday, September 13 and 14
Donations of hardcover and paperback books, DVDs, videos, CDs and other media will be accepted two weeks before the sale. All items must be in good condition. No magazines, textbooks or encyclopedias will be accepted. Members of the Friends may purchase items early at the Friday night preview sale on September 12.

Samples of items for sale by the Friends are displayed in the library lobby. You may purchase them at the circulation desk.

- mugs imprinted with “Curl up with a good book” for $5.00
- refrigerator magnets with a pocket to hold your date due slips for $1.00
- pencils for 25 cents
Join the Friends
Please support the library, a community treasure, by joining the Friends. Membership is renewable yearly from October 1 through September 30. Annual fees are $5.00 Senior, $10.00 Individual, and $15.00 Family. Membership forms are available at the library. Since the Friends of the Library is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, your contribution may be deductible on your federal income tax return. Matching corporate funds are always appreciated.
Monthly meetings are held at the library from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, except July and August.
