A Library for the 21st Century

Randolph deserves a world-class public library, and members of the Library Board, the library staff, and Randolph community organizations are working to design the best possible new library building to meet the needs of Randolph residents as the population increases from 25,000 to 30,000 over the next few years. A modern building at least double the size of the current library will enable us to continue our current activities and services while increasing our focus in these areas:

Community-building

  • A larger meeting room with a kitchen
  • Expanded schedule of programs for all ages
  • Several smaller rooms for meetings of community groups
  • Gathering places for conversations

Learning

  • Quiet spaces for study
  • Additional computers
  • Display areas for new forms of media

Teens

  • A location close to the high school and middle school
  • Comfortable and welcoming spaces for teens
  • Materials and activities to encourage learning and creativity

Children

  • Spaces in the Children’s Room for storytime and crafts
  • Attractive areas for reading and self-paced learning activities

Keep in touch with the library to follow our progress in bringing these plans to completion in the near future.
