Second Free Downloadable Audiobook Service

Beginning February 4, 2008, Randolph Library users will have an additional source for audiobooks. ListenNJnw’s Digital Book site gives commuters, joggers, busy mothers and the homebound access to a great selection of hundreds of popular fiction and nonfiction titles from authors like James Patterson, David Baldacci and Nora Roberts. Classics by Dickens, Tolstoy, Austen and others can also be found in the collection.

Holders of valid M.A.I.N. library cards can download titles to their home computers for listening, or transfer them to most WMA/MP3 players. Many titles can also be burned to CD for use in the car or with any newer CD players. Downloaded audiobooks are automatically returned to the system, so there are no late fees. Holds can be placed on popular titles, but many titles are “always available,” allowing unlimited concurrent use. All this can be done anytime, anywhere. Just install the free software from the ListenNJnw web site, then browse our collection of fiction, mysteries, romances, nonfiction, bestsellers, and more. You will use your library card barcode number and the same PIN that you use in the M.A.I.N. Library Catalog to log in when checking out and downloading an audiobook.

ListenNJnw is powered by technology from OverDrive, Inc., a leading supplier of digital media. This innovative project is sponsored by the Morris Automated Information Network and the Highlands Regional Library Cooperative.
