Public computers in the lobby, Reference Room, Children’s Room and Teen Zone provide access to the Internet. Check your e-mail account or search our subscription reference databases. You may search them in the library as well as all the other databases that are available from home.
Internet tutoring sessions at the Randolph Library are described under programs for adults in the table of contents on the left. Additional classes are given at the Morris County Library.
The library has a wireless network with three access points. You may use your laptop computer with a wireless network interface card that supports the Wi-Fi standard known as IEEE 802.11b or g. Ask for detailed instruction sheets at the Information Desk if you have any difficulty connecting to the network. You may use library printers if you save information to a disk.
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are available on two computers in the lobby. A scanner may be used to add an image to your document or to print a color picture. OpenOffice.org office productivity software, including a word processor and a spreadsheet program, is available on one computer in the Reference Room.
Several computers in the Children’s Room have educational CD-ROM games suitable for different age levels.
Two copy machines are provided in the Reference Room. One makes color copies, and both have the ability to enlarge and reduce your original documents.
Two types of projectors may be borrowed by Randolph cardholders. The carousel slide projector will show your family, travel, or nature slides, and the opaque projector will enlarge and project a photo, drawing, or printed sheet of paper.
