How do I apply for a library card?
Adults may provide a valid form of identification indicating a current Randolph address such as a driver’s license or personalized check or bill.
Children five years or older are eligible for cards. A parent or guardian must sign permission and accept responsibility for all materials checked out on a minor’s card. Parent/guardian must present identification to verify address.
Courtesy cards are given to out-of-county residents who are employed in Randolph.
A gold library card may be purchased for $25 if you want to contribute to our annual repayment to the township for the cost of the 1999 addition to the children’s room. For this donation, you will receive a card which entitles you to ten free DVD rentals, a $10 value.
How do I borrow materials?
Present your library card each time you wish to borrow materials. Your Randolph library card allows you to borrow a variety of items at one time with the following limits:
- Maximum of 3 items per subject per household
- Maximum of 2 instructional software CDs per household
You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card. Please inform staff of any address, phone or e-mail changes. If your card has been lost or stolen, let us know immediately.
Through our membership in M.A.I.N. (Morris Automated Information Network) and the Open Borrowing program, your Randolph card may be used at other public libraries in Morris, Bergen, Middlesex, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties.
Non-residents may borrow most Randolph materials with library cards issued by other cooperating public libraries in the same six counties. Media items displayed in the new shelving area are loaned only to M.A.I.N. cardholders. New DVDs are loaned only to Randolph cardholders.
How do I view My Account?
My Account gives you access to your library account. You are able to view which items are currently charged to your account, check item due dates, renew some materials yourself, and determine the amount of any fines and/or fees owed.
Before you use My Account, you must go to your home library and choose a four-digit PIN number. Library staff will enter this into the system. PINs will not be issued over the telephone or via e-mail request.
To see your patron information, click on the Check My Account link at the left side of this page. A new window will open, allowing you to enter your library card barcode number and PIN in the login screen. After you have logged in to the catalog, click the “My Account” link near the top of the screen.
New Jersey law obligates the library to treat all borrower records confidentially. We cannot give your library account information to anyone other than the cardholder, including titles of items checked out.
What online services are available with my library card?
Your library card barcode number is the gateway to online services such as requesting titles through the M.A.I.N. Web Catalog, searching subscription reference databases from home, and signing up for some library programs.
