With your library card, you have free access from home to high-quality reference database subscriptions paid for by the Randolph Township Free Public Library, the M.A.I.N. consortium, the Highlands Regional Library Cooperative, or the New Jersey State Library. Randolph Library Databases

The Randolph Library subscribes to a collection of full-text newspaper and magazine databases and to several online encyclopedias. Click on each database name to search in a new window. At the login screen, enter your Randolph Library card barcode number.

Local News Center

Find full-text articles on local news, issues, events, people and much more. Updated daily, it includes obituaries, sports, real estate and other sections.

Job Resource Center

Find area job listings, career information, job hunting tools, resume tips and more.

HeritageQuest Online

One of the most valuable services available today for anyone researching ancestry in the United States. Search, view and print U.S. federal census records from 1790 through 1930, over 25,000 family and local history books and more.

ProQuest Historical Newspapers and Magazines

Access 3,000 magazines and newspapers, some as far back as 1986. Includes full text of The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times.

New York Times Historical Newspapers

Access The New York Times (from 1851 to 2006) and click through cover to cover or search by topic, date, or article type (article, photo, comic, birth/death/marriage notice, display ad, film review, etc.). The historical New York Times presents firsthand accounts and opinions that bring history to life.

America’s Newspapers, Obituaries & Death Notices

Find the online editions of local and regional newspapers, as well as a large comprehensive collection of newspaper obituaries and death notices.

Find full-text articles from various familiar magazines in one easy-to-search database. These leading magazines provide coverage and analysis of current events in a range of categories including: news, business, entertainment, lifestyle, science and technology, and sports.

Britannica Online Reference Center (grades 9-adult)

Find information and photos by searching over 75,000 articles (including 23,000 biographies) from the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Get news headlines and full-text articles from more than 700 magazines. Link to quality web sites on your topic. Search thousands of maps in the world atlas.

Britannica Online for Kids (grades K-8)

Find information and pictures by searching the Compton’s Encyclopedia and the Britannica Elementary Encyclopedia. Examine maps in the world atlas or search for words in the dictionary. Discover America with statistics and summaries for every state and province in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

World Book Online Reference Center (grades K-8)

Search all the articles from the 22-volume print set of the World Book Encyclopedia, plus thousands more. This comprehensive site hosts more than 20,000 pictures, maps, videos, and sounds, plus a wealth of learning activities.

World Book Kids (grades K-5)

Based on the award-winning World Book Student Discovery Encyclopedia, this class-room tested site offers simple navigation, easy-to-read articles, thousands of illustrations and engaging activities.

Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos en Linea (grades K-5)

The Spanish Student Discovery Encyclopedia is organized so that students can find information quickly and easily by navigating in Spanish or English. It includes more than 2,200 articles, 250 maps, and 1,500 illustrations.

M.A.I.N. Databases…Your Library@Home

All residents of the Morris County area can find reliable information on a wide variety of topics in the databases funded by M.A.I.N. and the state of New Jersey.

ReferenceUSA

Find accurate phone-verified information on 15.5 million U.S. and Canadian businesses and organizations. Search and sort by business name, location, yellow page heading, SIC code and size of operation. Research 147 million U.S. and Canadian households to conduct market research and locate friends and relatives. Look for detailed information on 675,000 doctors and 180,000 dentists in the HealthCare database. Click on the database name and enter your Randolph Library card barcode number to search. If you see the page requesting Username/Password, you may have to turn off your firewall or Norton Internet Security temporarily to get the proper barcode login page. To find additional databases, click on the M.A.I.N. logo. When the new window opens, select a database from the list. At the login screen, enter your library card barcode number to search for the information you need in any of the following areas:
