The Randolph Health Department will be holding a seasonal flu/pneumonia vaccination clinic on Tuesday, December 14th from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at town hall, located at 502 Millbrook Avenue in Randolph.
The fee is $20.00 for flu and $15.00 for pneumonia*, free to those with Medicare Part B ONLY. Those with any Medicare co-pay plans must self submit for reimbursement.
All residents age six months and older are encouraged to obtain the flu vaccine. The H1N1 virus (swine flu) is one of three viruses included in this year’s flu vaccine.
Children ages 6 months to 59 months attending licensed day care centers and preschools must be vaccinated against seasonal flu by December 31, 2010 or they will be barred from returning.
The pneumonia vaccine is recommended for those age 65 years of age and older and for select adults prior to 65 with specific immune issues or anyone who smokes.
Advanced registration for the clinics is not required. Call 973.537.7118 for more information.
* The fee for the pneumonia vaccine is normally $30.00. As a result of the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the township has received this vaccine for free and the only cost associated with receiving it is a $15.00 administrative fee. Read more about the other vaccines made available in this program, any of which will be covered by that $15.00 administrative fee if received during the same visit.
