Residents Experiencing Discolored Water
Posted: February 16, 2006
Over the past several days, water customers—generally in the Ironia section of the township—have experienced discoloration of their water. Please be advised that the source of the discoloration is sedimentation in a well operated by the township’s water supplier, the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority (MCMUA).
The water was tested on Wednesday, February 15th and was found by the testing laboratory to be safe for consumption.
The township has been notified by the MCMUA that this well has been shut down and any discoloration will subside. Customers still experiencing discoloration are recommended to run the cold water for approximately fifteen minutes. If you still experience problems, please do not hesitate to contact the Randolph Township Water Department at 973.989.7066.
