Emergency Management Test Week
Posted: September 30, 2013
Randolph Township will be testing its emergency management systems during the first week of October.
All emergency centers will operate from generators the morning of Wednesday, October 2, 2013. The following locations serve as emergency centers: the municipal building and police station on Millbrook Avenue, the library and community center buildings on Calais Road and the township maintenance facilities on Sussex Turnpike.
During the early evening of October 2, the SwiftReach notification system will be tested. On this occasion, a Swift Alert will be issued.
To stay better connected, it is recommended that residents sign up for Swift Alerts by registering their cell phone numbers and/or e-mail. This system is a vital source for emergency communications should telephone landlines be damaged in a storm.
Residents are encouraged to test their home generators, check bottled water and battery supplies and discuss an emergency action plan with family members.
Should an actual town-wide or regional emergency occur, this website and the township’s Facebook page will be key sources for local information.
