Health Tips from the Mayor: Skin Cancer

Each year, over a million new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed.
Avoid the dangers from sun exposure by:
- Always apply sunscreen with SPF 15 - 30 thirty minutes prior to going outside.
- Wear a hat and sunglasses to protect your head and face.
- Reapply sunscreen after swimming, sweating and toweling off.
- Avoid the sun as much as possible between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. or stay in the shade.
- Do not use tanning beds!
