Randolph to Participate in Operation Appreciation
Posted: November 2, 2010
The Morris County Chamber of Commerce has joined forces with the staff of Brighton Cromwell and the United Way of Morris County for an ambitious project dubbed Operation Appreciation to send care packages this holiday season to soldiers serving overseas.
According to the chamber, these care packages will not only provide necessary and desired items to our active duty troops, they will hopefully curb some of the sadness that can accompany separation from loved ones during the holiday season.
Randolph Township is serving as a drop-off location for Operation Appreciation. The following items are being sought for the care packages and can be dropped off at the township municipal building:
- prepaid phone cards
- scarves and gloves
- single serve packets of hot and cold cereal
- ready to eat tuna/chicken salad kits
- commercially wrapped individual packs of trail mix
- individually wrapped beef jerky
- energy bars
- commercially wrapped candy, gum and cookies
- commercially sealed lip balm
- roll-on deodorant
- travel size foot powder and moist towelettes
- travel size hand sanitizer
- travel size toiletries
- dental floss
- eye drops
Please drop off all items by 12 noon, December 3rd and the township will deliver them to Brighton Cromwell where volunteers will package the items for sending overseas.
If you’d prefer to make a financial contribution, checks may be sent directly to the United Way of Morris County, Front Line Fund, P.O. Box 1948, Morristown, NJ 07962. Please write “Operation Appreciation” in the memo line of your check. All monetary donations will go towards purchasing needed items in bulk.
