Parade Seeks Participants and Sponsors
Posted: May 11, 2006
July may seem a long way off but if your organization is interested in marching in or sponsoring Randolph’s Freedom Festival Parade, now is the time to take action.
This year’s Freedom Festival Parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 1, 2006. The parade will kickoff at 12 noon at the Mount Fern Methodist Church on Quaker Church Road, continue to Center Grove Road, cross Route 10 and finish at the lower parking lot of the County College of Morris.
March in the Freedom Festival Parade
Parade Chairman Geoff Price will be accepting parade entry forms from now through Friday, May 26th. The entry form is a breeze to fill out and seeks basic information about each organization and the category it would like to be judged in. The categories available are as follows:
- Best Marching Band
- Best Musical Unit (marching bands do not qualify in this category)
- Best Marching Unit
- Best Marching Unit/Float Combination
- Best Float
- Most Unique Entry
Organizations will be notified of their line-up number and position approximately two weeks prior to the parade.
Be a Sponsor of the Freedom Festival Parade
Now drawing close to 5,000 spectators, the Freedom Festival Parade has become an annual tradition for many families in the community and is one of Morris County’s premier 4th of July parades. Help support the parade by completing the parade sponsorship form and making your donation between now and May 26th.
There are four levels of sponsorship available:
- Platinum: $1,000.00
- Gold: $500.00
- Silver: $250.00
- Bronze: $100.00
Parade sponsors will receive a certificate recognizing their level of sponsorship. The Parade Committee will provide mounted signs in the parade stating all sponsorships, and will list sponsors on a marquis banner prominently displayed at the fairgrounds throughout the Freedom Festival. Also, all sponsors will be announced at the reviewing stand and will be listed on the township web site.
Parade entry and sponsor forms may also be obtained from the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, located next to the library on Calais Road.
The parade marches, rain or shine!
