HSOR to Host Randolph Reminisces Program
Posted: April 16, 2013
The Historical Society of Old Randolph (HSOR) is pleased to announce the first speakers of the season in its special series of programs entitled “Randolph Reminisces.”
In an open, informal discussion format, Ironia residents Ruth and John McAndrew will share their memories of Randolph through the years.
John will talk about Miller’s Hill Farm and its reputation as one of Northern New Jersey’s pick-your-own farms that also offered hayrides. The Combs Hollow homestead still contains some mine holes from the 1800s. Additionally, John is a former Randolph Fire Department chief and he will also touch on some history of Randolph’s Ironia Fire Company #4. Ruth will interject with discussion of their Ladies’ Auxiliary.
The public is welcome to attend the program on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Randolph Museum. The museum is located in the historic Brundage House at the main entrance to Randolph’s Freedom Park on Millbrook Avenue. Light refreshments will be served.
