HSOR to Host Randolph Reminisces Program

Posted: April 13, 2015

The Historical Society of Old Randolph (HSOR) is pleased to announce that Holly Ackerman Bergstein will be the first speaker of the 2015 season “Randolph Reminisces” series on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 7:00 p.m..

Holly will reminisce about her grandfather, Isidore Ackerman, who was the proprietor and principal original owner of Ackerman’s Hotel, a popular Mount Freedom resort during the early part of the twentieth century.

Holly will discuss how her grandparents came to New Jersey from the Bronx, NY. They established the hotel where Albert and Gloria Ackerman, as well as Holly and other family members, worked and grew up. Holly is still a resident of Randolph Township and will share her memories and photos from her treasure trove of family albums.

The public is invited to attend this program at the Randolph Museum, located in the historic Brundage House at the main entrance to Randolph’s Freedom Park on Millbrook Avenue. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Light refreshments will be served.
