HSOR to Host Randolph Reminisces Program
Posted: June 2, 2014
The Historical Society of Old Randolph (HSOR) is pleased to announce that Mr. Morton ‘Morty’ Millinger will be the next speaker in its special series of programs entitled “Randolph Reminisces.”
Morty first came to the Mt. Freedom area for vacations with his parents during the 1930s. As an adult, Morty and his wife brought their children to Lieberman’s, Ackerman’s and Kessler’s, and he will share his memories of these famous Randolph resort hotels.
Morty and his parents were native Jersey Cityians but after summering with his family throughout the decades, he purchased a bungalow on Brookside Road and winterized it for his family to live in year-round. Morty has wonderful memories, including playing ball at the Saltz Hotel ball field with his summertime buddies, and this octogenarian is anxious to share his reminisces with everyone.
The public is welcome to attend the program on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Randolph Museum. The museum is located in the historic Brundage House at the main entrance to Randolph’s Freedom Park on Millbrook Avenue. Light refreshments will be served.
