Posted: October 14, 2014
The Historical Society of Old Randolph (HSOR) is pleased to announce that historian Kathy Fisher will be the final speaker of the 2014 “Randolph Reminisces” series on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
Kathy, president of the Montville Historical Society and a member of the Morris County Heritage Commission, will discuss the Morris Canal and Randolph’s connection to it courtesy of the DL&W Railroad which ran through the Ironia section of the township. It carried farm produce and coal, and it crossed paths with the Morris Canal in McCainsville (Kenvil), Drakesville (Ledgewood), Port Oram (Wharton) and Dover.
The public is invited to attend this program at the Randolph Museum, located in the historic Brundage House at the main entrance to Randolph’s Freedom Park on Millbrook Avenue. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Light refreshments will be served.
