Annual Reorganization Kicks Off New Year

Approximately 125 people turned out for Randolph’s annual reorganization meeting which was held January 1 at town hall.

Among those in attendance were Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen, Senator Anthony R. Bucco, Assemblyman Anthony M. Bucco, Sheriff Ed Rochford, Mount Arlington Mayor Art Ondish, former Randolph mayors Lee Whilden, Betty (Elizabeth) Jaeger and Jay Alpert, freeholders Margaret Nordstrom, Douglas Cabana, Bill Chegwidden and freeholder-elect Tom Mastrangelo.

Council members Allen Napoliello, who was first elected to the council in 2002, was sworn in for another term, as was James Loveys, who joined the council in August of 2010 when he was selected to serve out the unexpired term of former council member Jay Alpert.

Newly-elected council members Michael Guadagno, former chairman of the Planning Board, and Thomas MacArthur, previously a member of the Planning Board, Environmental Commission, Board of Assessments, and the Open Space and Community Services Advisory committees, were also sworn in at Saturday’s reorganization meeting.

Mayor Trina Ruane Mitsch was chosen by her peers to serve as mayor for another year. Councilman Mike Guadagno will serve as deputy mayor.

Fire Chief William Wagner, who joined the Randolph Fire Department in January 1980, stepped down as chief and former Deputy Chief John Mc Andrew III was sworn in to take his place. Kevin Dunn, a member of Fire Co. 2, assumed the deputy chief position.
