Recreation Programs/Activities and Inclement Weather
Posted: January 21, 2016
The Randolph Township Department of Parks & Recreation uses the township website to post announcements related to field closings, activity cancellations and similar alerts. This information may also be obtained by calling the “Recreation Hotline” at 1.866.802.0837.
When the department posts an announcement, a “Recreation Hotline Alert” will appear on the home page in the bottom right-hand corner in place of the “Adopt-A-Pet” section. The alert, which indicates the date and time the announcement was posted, serves as a link to the hotline alert page where complete information is provided.
Access to the hotline alert page is also available through the “Parks & Recreation” section of the main navigation menu which runs horizontally across the top of every web page.
In cases of inclement weather, please note the following:
- when Randolph schools are closed, all recreation activities will be canceled; make-up dates will be announced at a later time.
- when Randolph schools have an early dismissal due to inclement weather, all recreation activities will be canceled; make-up dates will be announced at a later time.
- in case of delayed school openings, recreation activities will take place unless otherwise notified.
- if your child participates in a travel sport that is scheduled outside of Randolph, please check with your coach or the league where the activity is scheduled.
During the week, alerts are posted by 3:30 p.m. or as soon as possible in cases of extreme weather, and by 8:00 a.m. on weekends. Also note that in some cases, the recreation department will make a decision for the weekend and post it on Friday.
