Morris County Remembers 9/11

Join Morris County on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at its16th remembrance ceremony as we honor those lost on 9/11.
The ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Morris County September 11th Memorial on West Hanover Avenue in Parsippany-Troy Hills, across from the Morris View Healthcare Center and adjacent to the Morris County Public Safety Academy. It will be held rain or shine. Parking will be available across the street from the memorial. Shuttle buses will be available.
New York City firefighter John Fila will be the featured speaker. John is a member of Engine 54, Ladder 4, Battalion 9, which lost 15 of its members on September 11, 2001, as they were some of the first responders to the attack at the World Trade Center.
The event will feature the reading of the names of all Morris County residents who passed on 9/11 and the 15 members of Engine 54 who lost their lives, a candlelight vigil, an invocation by Pastor Sidney Williams of Morristown’s Bethel AME Church, and musical selections by the Morris Choral Society, students from the Morris County School of Technology, and the Police Pipes and Drums of Morris County. Fire, police, EMTs and other emergency responders will join the ceremony. Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
