Construction to Begin on Salem Street Bridge
Posted: February 9, 2012
Please note the original start date of February 10, 2012 has been pushed back to February 17, 2012.
Weather permitting, New Jersey’s Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will be commencing work on the Salem Street Bridge over Route 10 beginning Friday, February 17, 2012.
This project, which involves replacing the superstructure, calls initially for the relocation of the existing overhead electrical wires along the westbound side of Route 10.
Residents should expect to encounter delays resulting from the closure of one of three westbound lanes from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and/or from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. into the following day.
This is the beginning of a very large construction project for the bridge expected to span much of the 2012 year. We will endeavor to post updates on lane closures when so notified by NJDOT.
