Saturday Construction Permits

As a result of adverse weather conditions over the last several months, a number of major construction projects have been significantly delayed, several of which need to get buttoned up before the onset of winter.
Consequently, permission has been granted for Saturday construction activities for the following projects:
- CCM campus parking lot lighting
- Calais Road library and community center
(both the site and building contractors) - DPW Maintenance building project on Sussex Tpke.
- Sussex Turnpike sewer
(to date, no request has been made)
In each case, the construction firm may start up equipment no earlier than 8:00 a.m. and must shut down their sites by sundown.
The Board of Education is also being granted permission if it has any project that runs the risk of not being completed before winter weather sets in.
