Sussex Turnpike Water Main Installation

Posted: October 7, 2015

Installation of a new 12” water main on Sussex Turnpike is underway and will be completed in two phases.

The first phase, which began at the intersection of Calais Road and Sussex Turnpike, is expected to be completed by Tuesday, October 31, 2015, weather permitting. Due to the scope of the project, it necessitates a detour for traffic travelling eastbound on Sussex Turnpike. The detour, only in effect between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, will take eastbound traffic from Sussex Turnpike around the work area via Morris Turnpike, Calais Road, Cornell Drive and Devonshire Drive.

The second phase of the water main installation will begin on or about November 2, 2015. Weather permitting, it is expected that this second phase will be completed by December 20, 2015. Work will necessitate a detour for traffic travelling eastbound on Sussex Turnpike. The detour, only in effect between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, will take eastbound traffic from Sussex Turnpike around the work area via Old Brookside Road to Brookside Road.
