Update on SwiftReach Mishap

The township has worked with SwiftReach this morning, February 9, 2015, and the glitch which resulted in multiple early morning phone calls has been repaired.
The issue—on this occasion and with the last few alerts—was due to the fact that SwiftReach was sending the calls to the residents who signed up for the service as well as to those in the Reverse 911 system.
Please be advised that your number will not come off Reverse 911. Non-emergency calls will no longer be sent to residents who did not sign up to be part of SwiftReach.
In the event of a true emergency, Reverse 911 will be activated at that time only and all residents will receive a call.
