Parks & Recreation: Programs

Youth Programs: Fall

Detailed program information, including meeting dates/times, registration dates and applicable fees, is available for programs currently enrolling participants through our online registration site. Information will also be publicized through the Randolph Quarterly, the 6-week calendars provided at the schools, and the Randolph Reporter. For further information, please call the Recreation Department at 973.989.7081.

Dance Classes

Classes exploring Introduction to Dance, Pre Ballet/Ballet, and Tap are offered. Classes start in late September.

Who: Ages 2-1/2 to 5 (as of October 1)
Registration: September
Music Time

This interactive “parent/child” class is an energetic 45-minutes encompassing singing, playing instruments and simple dance movements fostering a love of music. Classes run for 8 weeks starting in late September.

Who: Ages 1 through 4
Registration: September
Toddle Time

Toddle Time is an interactive play group for 2-year-olds and their parents which will give the children their first experience with a teacher while still having their parent close by. Activities will include an age appropriate craft done with a parent (different each week), parachute/ball play etc. (interactive with parent), musical activity with CDs, dancing and songs, story time (two stories each session), and large muscle play outside on playground if weather permits. The program meets on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. beginning in mid-October. Class size is limited.

Who: Age 2 (by date of first class) through 2 years, 11 months

Tennis Lessons

Lessons include instruction on serving, forehand, backhand, volleying and match play. This program consists of four 1-hour lessons held on Saturdays at Brundage Park for girls and boys at beginner/intermediate levels of play. Lessons typically begin in October. Participants must have sneakers and a racquet.

Who: Ages 9 to adult
Registration: September
Bowling

Bowling is offered at Circle Lanes on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. from October through March. Each participant bowls 3 games and shoe rental is included in the standard fees. There is a one-time fee for USBC membership.

Who: Ages 6 to 18 (as of August 1)
Registration: September
Ice Hockey

The Mite-Bantam and Midget teams compete among towns throughout Morris County. The Mite-Bantam season runs from October to late March, while the Midgets play September through November.

Who: Ages 7 to 17, broken down as follows:
Mite-Bantam: Ages 7 to 14
Midgets: Ages 15 to 17
Registration: June
Soccer Clinic

This clinic, open to boys and girls of all skill levels, is designed to teach basic and advanced skills in a fun, relaxed environment. Clinic is held in November, during Teachers’ Convention, 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Freedom Park turf field.

Who: Grades K through 8
Registration: October
Cross Country

The Recreation Department’s cross country teams form in mid-August for county-wide competition throughout September and October. Open to boys and girls.

Who: Ages 7 to 15 (as of December 31)
Registration: May
Fall Soccer

The fall Boys and Girls Soccer Programs begin in late August and run into October.

Who: Grades 1 through 12 as of September, broken down as follows:
Micro 1: 1st grade
Micro 2: 2nd grade
C League: 3rd & 4th grade
B League: 5th & 6th grade
A League: 7th & 8th grade
Co-ed High School: 9th through 12th grade
Registration: May
Flag Football

This league is designed to introduce beginning football skills in a fun, non-tackle setting. Teams compete among themselves. League play commences in September.

Who: Ages 5 to 7 (as of September 1)
Registration: May
Midget Football

The Randolph Bulldogs Midget Football program fields 7 teams in county-wide leagues for boys of various ages. League play runs from September into November.

Who: Ages 7 to 14, broken down as follows:
Pre-Clinic: Age 7-8
Clinic: Ages 8-9
Super Pee-Wee: Age 10
Pee-Wee: Age 11
Junior Varsity: Age 12
Varsity: Ages 13-14
