Parks & Recreation: Programs

Youth Programs: Winter

Detailed program information, including meeting dates/times, registration dates and applicable fees, is available for programs currently enrolling participants through our online registration site. Information will also be publicized through the Randolph Quarterly, the 6-week calendars provided at the schools, and the Randolph Reporter. For further information, please call the Recreation Department at 973.989.7081.

Dance Classes

Classes exploring Introduction to Dance, Ballet, Ballet and Tap, and Ballet and Jazz, are offered throughout the winter. Additional classes may be added subject to interest levels. Classes typically form in January.

Who: Ages 2-1/2 to 6 (as of October 1)
Registration: January
Boys’ Basketball

The Recreation Department coordinates a number of basketball programs for boys, including an instructional clinic (begins December), structured in-town leagues (begins January) as well as travel teams (begins December).

Who: Grades 2 through 12, broken down as follows:
Clinic: Grades 2 through 3
Town Leagues: Grades 4 through 12
Travel: Grades 4 through 8 (required tryouts in October)
Registration: September
Girls’ Basketball

The department runs an instructional clinic, a local league and a travel basketball team, all of which begin in December, for girls in grades 2 through 10.

Who: Grades 2 through 10, broken down as follows:
Clinic: Grades 2 through 3
Town Leagues: Grades 4 through 10
Travel: Grades 4 through 8 (required tryouts in October)
Registration: September
Ice Hockey

The Mite-Bantam and Midget teams compete among towns throughout Morris County. The Mite-Bantam season runs from October to late March, while the Midgets play September through November.

Who: Ages 6 to 17, broken down as follows:
Mite-Bantam: Ages 6 to 14
Midgets: Ages 15 to 17
Registration: June
Bowling

Bowling is offered at Dover Lanes on Saturdays at noon from October through March. Each participant bowls 3 games and shoe rental is included in the standard fees. Participants must pay a one-time fee for USBC sanction.

Who: Ages 6 to 18 (as of August 1)
Registration: October
Wrestling

Instructional clinics designed to introduce basic skills as well as competitive teams are offered for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Clinic teams compete amongst themselves, while older wrestlers compete in a county-wide league. Season runs November through February.

Who: Grades K through 8, broken down as follows:
Clinic: Grades K through 1
Teams: Grades 2 through 8
Registration: September
Cheerleading Clinic

The department offers an instructional clinic where participants will learn the cheers needed to try out for the Midget Football Cheerleading. The clinic is offered over a 6-week period during February and March.

Who: Grades 2 through 7
Registration: January

Various art classes for children through 18 years of age are offered throughout the year. Please see the Artworks Studio page for more information.
