Charged: Lisbeth S. Gil, 24 of Dover NJ: Officer Keith DeCarolis arrested the accused on an outstanding warrant from Denville after a random license plate check showed the warrant. The accused posted the $89.00 bail and was released.

Incident #: 2008-029037: Officer Michael Kavanaugh met with a resident of Valley Road to take a report of criminal mischief and harassment. The victim stated her vehicle was recently scratched and she had received several harassing text messages.

Charged: Michael V. Schmidt, 18 and John Conklin, 43 of Randolph NJ: Officers Matthew Rispoli, Frank Mygas, Keith DeCarolis, and Jason Gould responded to a residence on Everdale Road on a report of a fight in progress. Both parties were arrested and charged with simple assault.

Charged: Amilcar I. Echevarria, 22 of Dover NJ: The accused was arrested by Officer Neil Caufield during a motor vehicle stop when several active warrants were located for him. The accused was turned over to the Denville Police Department.

Incident #: 2008-029170: Officer Michael Kavanaugh met with a resident of Orchard Drive who made a complaint about another motorist’s actions on Millbrook Avenue.

Incident #: 2008-029166 and 2008-029174: Officer Kurt Edelman met with a representative of Gray Supply to document a bad check complaint. The check was initially passed by a resident of Flanders on 5-9-06 and after numerous unsuccessful attempts at collection, a criminal complaint will be signed by the victim. The second complaint was for two bad checks passed by a Randolph resident in May of 2006. The funds are still outstanding on both checks.

Incident #: 2008-029141: A representative of Able Oil met with Officer Michael Kavanaugh to document a bad check complaint against a Randolph resident. The check was initially presented for payment on January 10, 2008.

Incident #: 2008-029140: Officer Brian McGaughran met with a resident of Quail Run to document an act of criminal mischief that took place between July 29 and 30. The victim’s mailbox and post had been damaged.

Charged: Amy E. Caljean, 21 of Dover NJ: The accused was arrested by Officer Brian McGaughran on an outstanding Randolph warrant. She posted the $206.00 bail and was released.

Charged: Monica M. Reynolds, 57 of Randolph NJ: Sergeant Christopher Giuliani responded to Route 10 and Center Grove Road on a motor vehicle crash. During the course of the incident, Sgt. Giuliani detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the accused’s breath. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. The accused was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. Officers Brian McGaughran and Richard Biase assisted with the arrest and processing.

Incident #: 2008-029028: Officer Brian McGaughran met with a resident of Rebecca Court who reported that on the evening of July 27th, he hosted a party at his home and during the course of the night, several items including digital cameras were stolen.

Charged: Andrew H. Olanoff, 18 of Randolph NJ: Officers Frank Mygas, Jason Gould, and Matthew Rispoli responded to Arrowgate Drive on a report of a suspicious vehicle. The accused and several other persons were located in the suspicious vehicle. When the accused opened the window of the car to speak with the officers, the odor of burnt marijuana was detected coming from the car. The accused admitted to Officer Rispoli that he had drug-related paraphernalia in the car. The accused was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug related paraphernalia.

Incident #: 2008-028882: Officers Neil Caufield and Richard Biase responded to the A&P store on a report of employee theft. The officers met with the security officer who indicated one of the employees had been caught stealing cash from the cash register. The security officer asked patrols to escort the employee from the store.

Incident #: 2008-028871: Officer Brian McGaughran met with the owner of a business located on Route 10 to document damage to a company vehicle. The window on a 2000 Ford van had been broken between July 25 and July 28.

Incident #: 2008-028834: Officers Michael Kavanaugh and Neil Caufield responded to 116 South Salem Street on an attempted forced entry. Officers noted that damage was observed to the door of the business.

Charged: Steven P. Graf, age 27 of Randolph NJ: Officers Stephen Zenes, Randy Maccione, Michael Gomez and Corey Czerniak responded to 180 Franklin Road on a report of a domestic dispute. The accused was arrested after he refused to comply with the officers’ orders. Graf was charged with simple assault and resisting arrest.

Incident #: 2008-028716: Officer Manlio Irula documented several acts of mailbox vandalism on Olde York Rd. These incidents took place between 4:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Incident #: 2008-028691: Officers Stephen Zenes, Michael Gomez and Corey Czerniak responded to a residence on Blue Bird Court on a report of a domestic dispute. Both partiers were advised of their domestic violence rights. No arrests were made.

Incident #: 2008-028474: Officers Brett Sommer, Shawn Boyhan, and Sgt. Carl LeMarble responded to an apartment in Center Grove Village on a welfare check. Upon contacting the resident, it was apparent that the resident had harmed herself and needed transportation to the hospital. EMS 9 responded and transported the resident to the hospital.

Charged: Christian N. Tang, age 21 of Dover NJ: The accused was turned over to Officer James Cacciabeve from the New Jersey State Police who had arrested her on an outstanding Randolph warrant. She posted the $300.00 bail and was released.

Incident #: 2008-028304: Officer Brett Sommer responded to Rippling Brook Way on a report of a fire. Fire Company #2 responded as did Fire Inspector Ted Carman. A bed of mulch near the house was found to be smoldering and was extinguished by the Fire Department.

Charged: Mark D. Abato, age 40 of Wharton NJ: At 1:01 a.m., Officer Neil Caufield observed a vehicle being operated erratically in the Kmart Plaza. During the course of the motor vehicle stop, a warrant was located for the accused out of Randolph and Denville. The accused was also found to be in possession of CDS.

Charged: Jacob Hatley, age 21 of Laurens SC: Officer Jason Gould responded to Dover Chester Road near the Ironia School for a report of a solicitor going door to door. A male was located in the area and admitted he had been soliciting. The male was advised that a permit from the township is required to solicit. Sgt. Scott Arentowicz was called on this individual a second time and the accused was transported to police headquarters and charged with the local ordinance violation.

Jeffrey Gomez arrested the accused for driving while intoxicated after observing his vehicle traveling at an unusually low rate of speed on Quaker Church Road. The accused refused to take the required breath tests. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI within 1000 feet of a school and refusal to take a breath test.

Incident #: 2008-027752: A resident reported to Officer Matthew Rispoli that an unauthorized purchase was attempted on his credit card. The fraud was located early enough that the item was not shipped.

Incident #: 2008-027738: An employee of the McDonald’s on Route 10 reported to Officer Matthew Rispoli that while she was at work, someone removed her wallet from her handbag. The wallet contained cash and personal documents.

Charged: Mary A. O’Connell, age 51 of Livingston NJ: Officer Michael Gomez stopped the accused for a motor vehicle violation. The accused was then arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Charged: Charlie Acosta, age 22 of Lawrenceville GA: Officer Kevin Clark observed the accused operating his vehicle in a reckless manner on Route 10. The accused was arrested for driving while intoxicated and issued several motor vehicle summonses.

Charged: Tammy L. Peterson, age 29 of Randolph NJ: The accused was arrested by Sgt. Jeffrey Gomez after an outstanding warrant was located for her out of the Hopatcong Municipal Court. The accused was turned over to Hopatcong PD because she was unable to post bail.

Charged: Kristelle K. Marshall, age 20 of Newark NJ: Officer Matthew Pfeiffer stopped the accused for a motor vehicle violation. During the course of the stop, the accused stated she did not have her license in her possession. The information she provided to Officer Pfeiffer was also inaccurate. Officer Pfeiffer was assisted by Officer Michael Gomez and Sgt. Jeffrey Gomez. When Sgt. Gomez approached the car on the passenger side, he observed what appeared to be marijuana in the car. The accused was arrested and charged with several motor vehicle violations as well as with the possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.

Incident #: 2008-027507: Officer Michael Gomez and Sgt. Jeffrey Gomez responded to the swimming pool in the Gateways Apartments on a trespassing complaint. Three individuals were located inside the fenced and locked area of the pool. All three parties were advised of the possibility of trespass complaints being signed by the management company.

Charged: Christina I. Benitez, age 37 of Lodi NJ: During a motor vehicle stop, Officer Shawn Boyhan located an outstanding warrant for the accused from the Parsippany Municipal Court. The accused posted the $250.00 bail and was released.

Incident #: 2008-027417: Lt. Donald Smith took a complaint from a resident of Dover Chester Road regarding harassing phone calls from his ex-wife.

Incident #: 2008-027098: Officer Brett Sommer met with a former resident of Randolph regarding a bad check. The victim had sold his vehicle and the check written by the buyer to the financial institution by the buyer bounced. The victim has not been reimbursed by the buyer. The victim was advised of the process required to sign a criminal complaint against the buyer.

Incident Date: 7-15-08
Incident #: 2008-027145: Officer Randy Maccione met with a resident from Sussex Turnpike who indicated he had received a phone solicitation for the Morristown F.O.P. The resident indicated he was asked to leave his donation in an envelope for a courier to pick up. The victim did not do so and he recorded the license plate of the car the courier was driving. A further investigation revealed the Morristown PD’s union is the PBA. Residents are reminded not to donate to any agency that solicits by telephone.

Incident #: 2008-027145: Officers Randy Maccione, Frank Mygas and Sgt. Jeffrey Gomez responded to a residence on Barbara Drive on a report of a domestic dispute. The officers met with both parties who had just ended a dating relationship. Both parties were advised of their domestic violence rights. No arrests were made.

Incident #: 2008-jm022: Officer Keith DeCarolis responded to Quaker Village to document a complaint of harassing phone calls. Both the victim and the accused are juveniles. The parents of the victim were advised how to proceed with criminal complaints if they wished to do so.

Incident #: 2008-jm021: Officers Kevin Clark and Randy Maccione responded to a residence on Sanford Drive on a report of a missing juvenile. Prior to patrols’ arrival, the juvenile returned home.

Incident #: 2008-027143: Sgt. Jeffrey Gomez, along with Officers Randy Maccione and Keith DeCarolis, responded to Randolph Village on a domestic violence complaint. The victim was located in a parking lot and advised the officers that she and her husband had argued and that he had left the area. The victim was given her domestic violence rights. There were no arrests.

Charged: Danielle R. Goldberg, age 22 of Landing NJ: The accused was arrested by Sgt. Jeffrey Gomez after a Randolph court appearance due to an outstanding warrant for $750.00 issued by the Mt. Arlington Municipal Court. She was unable to post bail and was turned over to the Mt. Arlington PD.

Charged: Jennifer A. Kaye, age 21 of Newark NJ: The accused was arrested by Officer James Cacciabeve after a random check of her license plate revealed an active warrant for $164.00 from the Butler Municipal Court. The accused posted bail and was released.

Incident #: 2008-026820: Officer Kurt Edelman met with the complainant at police headquarters. The complainant wished to retrieve personal items from a residence in town where he is a party to a final restraining order.

Incident #: 2008-026804: Officer Michael Kavanaugh met with the victim at police headquarters. The victim reported that someone had stolen a check from her purse and presented it for payment at a bank in Randolph. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident #: 2008-026787: Officer Matthew Rispoli took a report of a theft form a resident of Randolph Village. The victim stated that a GPS unit and cash were taken from her vehicle.

Incident #: 2008-026684: Officers Brian McGaughran, Richard Biase, and Sgt. Christopher Giuliani met with a victim of a domestic violence incident at headquarters. A temporary restraining order was issued by Judge Ira Cohen. The other party involved was removed from the residence by police and transported to a local motel.

Charged: John S. Murdock, age 21 of Randolph NJ: At 4:15 a.m., Officer Brian McGaughran observed a vehicle parked within Freedom Park. Officer McGaughran located the accused and another individual on the football field. The accused was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. He was charged with possession of CDS, possession of drug related paraphernalia and both he and the other party were charged with being in the park after closing.

Incident #: 2008-026703: Officer Richard Biase and Sergeant Christopher Giuliani responded to 63 Park Avenue on a report of criminal trespass. No trespassers were located. The property owner was to review surveillance video of the location and contact police if necessary.

Incident #: 2008-026463: Sgt. Carl LeMarble spoke with an officer from Parsippany PD regarding the follow-up on an alleged child abuse incident. The incident may have taken place in Randolph several days prior during a parental visitation at a Randolph residence. Parsippany PD had contacted DYFS about the incident already.

Incident #: 2008-026400: Officers Stephen Zenes and Kevin Clark responded to Washington Valley Road and Laurel Hill Drive on a report of a domestic dispute. The vehicle involved had left the scene prior to the officers’ arrival. The registration on the car was provided by the caller. Officer Zenes followed up and eventually made contact with the parties involved. Both parties responded to police headquarters and spoke with Officer Zenes. Both were advised of their domestic violence rights.

The individual who had hired the cab refused to pay the additional fees. The cab driver was advised of the steps to sign a criminal complaint.

Detective Fichter was able to make phone contact with the individual who eventually consented to going back to the hospital. Several weapons were removed from the house and taken by police for safekeeping.
