ALERT: ROAD CONSTRUCTION 

5/23 Update - Cleanup Work on Saturday 5/24: 

Morris County’s Contractor will be working on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 8:00am to 3:00pm, weather permitting, to complete some cleanup work along Sussex Turnpike within the previous work zone and material storage areas.

5/02 Update - Saturday Construction on 5/03: 

Morris County’s Contractor will be working on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 8:00am to 4:30pm, weather permitting, to continue the drilling and installing of metal netting along existing rock slopes at two portions of Sussex Turnpike (CR 617)  between Arlyn and Ash Lanes and between Arthur Lane and Washington Valley in Randolph Township.  

Sussex Turnpike – Rock Slope Stabilization

This construction work will begin on or about Monday, November 18, 2024 through the end of May from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Construction will predominantly be along the shoulder of Sussex Turnpike with reduced traffic lane widths maintained eastbound and westbound traffic will be detoured to Raynor Road and West Hanover Avenue. Traffic control devices will be utilized to direct traffic during these activities. Access to residential and business driveways within the work zone may be temporarily impacted. Expect Delays or Plan Alternate Routes.  Attached is the Township & County’s typical notices with more detailed information on the project.
