An ordinance of the Township of Randolph appropriating $127,826.49 to repair the municipal building for damages resulting from water damage in both the finance and police departments as well as a fire in the police department, therefore including $127,826.49 in funding from the township’s insurance funds


BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Township of Randolph, County of Morris and State of New Jersey as follows:

SECTION 1. On, or around, February 18, 2014, frozen gutters had caused the roof to leak water into both the finance department as well as the police department.

SECTION 2. On September 20, 2014 a fire had occurred in the police department causing severe damage.

SECTION 3. Funding is hereby authorized not to exceed $127,826.49 for the following project:

SECTION 4. A total sum of $127,826.49 is authorized to complete these improvements including $127,826.49 due from the Township’s Insurance Funds.

SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon final adoption and publication in accordance with applicable statutes.

Notice is hereby given that an Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF RANDOLPH APPROPRIATING $127,826.49 TO REPAIR THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING FOR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM WATER DAMAGE IN BOTH THE FINANCE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS AS WELL AS A FIRE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, THEREFORE INCLUDING $127,826.49 IN FUNDING FROM THE TOWNSHIP’S INSURANCE FUNDS” was submitted in writing at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Township of Randolph, County of Morris, State of New Jersey, held on February 19, 2015 and was introduced, read by title and passed on first reading. A Statement of Purpose of the Ordinance is contained below. The Governing Body of the Township of Randolph will further consider the Ordinance for second reading and final passage thereof at their regular meeting to be held on March 10, 2015 at 7 p.m. prevailing time, at the Municipal Building, 502 Millbrook Avenue, Randolph, New Jersey 07869, at which time and place a public hearing will be heard thereon by the Governing Body and all parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard concerning said Ordinance.

Statement of Purpose of Ordinance

The purpose of the above Ordinance is to provide funding to repair the fire and flood damage in the Police Department and Finance Department.

A copy of the full Ordinance is available to any member of the general public, without cost, at the Township of Randolph, Municipal Building, Millbrook Avenue, Randolph, New Jersey, at the Office of the Township Clerk, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
