Township to Host Affordable Housing Public Information Meeting
Posted: June 12, 2019
The mayor and council will be hosting a public information meeting to educate the community about the ongoing proceedings to determine the court-mandated affordable housing requirements for New Jersey municipalities and its potential impact on Randolph.
The public information session will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the township municipal building at 502 Millbrook Avenue.
The meeting will focus on the current court process—in which Randolph is a participant—and the municipal plan to address the potential affordable housing obligation to be established through the court-mandated process.
The presentation will be led by township attorney and well regarded expert on affordable housing Edward Buzak. Mr. Buzak will provide a summary background on the proceedings to date and an overview on the status of the township’s actions to meet the obligations currently being considered by the court.
Mr. Buzak will be joined in the presentation by township planning professionals who will review the township’s draft Housing Element and Fair Share Plan required by the court as part of the process to determine the township’s affordable housing obligation. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for residents to ask questions of Mr. Buzak and township officials.
