LOCAL INFORMATION
As certain COVID-19 restrictions are eased on the state and local level, the Randolph Township Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services has taken steps to stay abreast of these changes by opening park facilities as allowed, as well as offering appropriate programming options. Guidance from the NJ Department of Health has been released following Executive Order 149, which allows for sports activities which can begin as early as June 22, and for day camps, which can begin July 6.
Based upon these standards, the department has developed protocols for summer camps and sports clinics and worked with our sports volunteer committees for baseball, softball, and lacrosse to develop on-field protocols to allow those activities. These protocols have then been reviewed by the Randolph Township health official for compliance with the NJ Department of Health guidelines. Examples of protocols include additional signage and marking at field locations, non-contact and social distancing practice planning, no sharing of equipment, and increased hand cleaning and disinfecting availability. The Randolph Township Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services will continue to work with our youth sports groups and camps to provide activities while being aware of, and monitoring, the health of our program participants.
