HSOR to Host Randolph Reminisces Program
Posted: September 4, 2022
The Historical Society of Old Randolph (HSOR) is pleased to host another “Randolph Reminisces” program on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Randolph Museum. The museum is located at the entrance to Freedom Park off Millbrook Avenue in Randolph.
Our guest speaker will be Mr. Ken Trowbridge. Many years ago, Mr. Trowbridge worked at the Mount Hope Mine, located in Rockaway Township. This mine dates back to the Revolutionary War when rich iron ore was vital to the Continental Army for making weapons. Mining continued at this mine throughout the 1800s and 1900s, and in 1944, modern facilities were erected on the site to accommodate the strong demand for iron during World War II.
Though donations are welcome, this program is free of charge and the public is invited.
