March 2020 MAC Events

Due to the spread of coronavirus, these events have been cancelled.

The Randolph Township Municipal Alliance Committee (MAC) is sponsoring the following events in March.

On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, the MAC will host a program titled “Let’s Clear the Air About Vaping” in the Randolph Middle School auditorium beginning at 7:00 p.m.

This program is intended to educate about the dangers of vaping in adolescents, the latest trends, risks of nicotine addiction in adolescents and how parents and children can talk about vaping. Join Rebecca Tritt MA, LAC, LCADC, NCC, a substance use navigator and therapist from Daytop Village to learn more about what vaping products are, why they are harmful and how to protect our children.

As part of Randolph Township’s commitment to the Morris County Stigma-Free Initiative, the MAC is offering the 8-hour public education program Youth Mental Health First Aid Training on Saturday, March 21, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Randolph YMCA Program House (14 Dover Chester Road).

This program introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, explains the importance of early intervention and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge.

This course, designed for adults who regularly interact with adolescents (teachers, school staff, coaches, youth group leaders, parents, etc.), uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis, provide help and connect young people to appropriate care. The program also teaches risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents including anxiety, depression, psychosis, eating disorders, AD/HD, disruptive behavior disorders and substance use disorder.
