Program: Managing Concerns About Falls

Posted: January 17, 2020

Do you know someone who has turned down a chance to go out with family or friends because they were concerned about falling? Have they cut down on a favorite activity because they might fall?

Norwescap RSVP & Volunteer Resource Center, in collaboration with the Randolph Township Health Department, will be offering A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls workshop.

The free 8-week program will take place every Wednesday from February 5 through March 25, 2020 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at India Brook Village, 36 Calais Road, Building B in Randolph.

A Matter of Balance is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. The program is led by two trained peer leaders and program participants learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance.
