HSOR to Host Randolph Reminisces Program

The Historical Society of Old Randolph (HSOR) is pleased to host another “Randolph Reminisces” program on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Randolph Museum. The program will focus on memories of Bill’s Luncheonette and its customers. The museum is located at the entrance to Freedom Park off Millbrook Avenue in Randolph, NJ.

Our guest speakers will be Kathy Sheehy and Jill Hammaren, two Randolph natives who have been friends since age 12 when they met at the luncheonette and worked there for many years. Both ladies attended Randolph High School at a time when there were many farmers in the township. Many of the farmers and neighbors frequently came into the luncheonette and the ladies have many colorful stories to share about these customers and the ways of Randolph years ago.

Bill Crowley was the owner of the luncheonette which also housed the Ironia post office at one time. His grandson Bruce Button currently runs the popular meeting place, and Kathy Sheehy is Bruce’s mother. The post office in the luncheonette closed many years ago, but Jill Hammaren boasts that she was the last person to post a letter at the post office there.

The public is welcome to attend this program free of charge. Come share memories of Randolph’s past!
