Road Construction

Posted: July 2, 2020

The following road projects will get underway the week of July 6, 2020.

Meadowbrook Road
The final paving of Meadowbrook Road from Old Chimney Road to Butternut Road will be conducted between July 6 and July 10, 2020, weather permitting. The paving operation will require partial closures of Meadowbrook Road from Old Chimney Road through Butternut Road with traffic detoured via Rolling Ridge Road, Timber Lane and Old Chimney Road. Residential properties within the paving area will have limited vehicular access to their driveways during the paving and are recommended to move their vehicles to the side streets prior to the paving operation. There may be short periods of time where access to portions of Meadowbrook Road and some driveways may not be possible, however, the township will be coordinating with the contractor to minimize the inconveniences. It is recommended that residents avoid driving or walking in or along the street through the active construction area except when necessary to access their homes. Police will be onsite to direct traffic during paving, with traffic alternating as required. Work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. If you have any questions, please contact Wayne Corsey in the engineering department at 973.989.7069.

Jennifern Avenue, Fords Road and Clover Lane Curb Installation
For all three roads, Cifelli Construction will begin the curb installation on Monday, July 6 and should complete it by Friday, July 17, 2020, weather permitting. There may be short periods of time where access to portions of these roads and some driveways may not be possible, however, the township will be coordinating with the contractor to minimize the inconveniences. Work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. If you have any questions, please contact Wayne Corsey in the engineering department at 973.989.7069.

Canfield Avenue Paving
As part of the gas main installation project, Rockborn Paving will be milling and paving portions of Canfield Avenue from Route 10 East to Sussex Turnpike on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Northbound traffic on Canfield Avenue will be temporarily detoured to Morris Turnpike West and back to Route 10 East. Southbound traffic from the intersection of Route 10 and Canfield Avenue will not be interrupted. Police will be onsite to direct traffic as required. Work hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the work will be completed the same day.
