Road Resurfacing Work to Begin August 12

Updated September 20, 2019:
The township’s 2019 road resurfacing program is nearing completion; line striping is the final step in the process. Next week the contractor will be striping the recently paved roads. We ask that drivers use caution while traveling on these roads prior to the line striping.

Updated September 18, 2019:
Old Brookside Road, from the park entrance to Sussex Turnpike, will be closed this morning due to paving. Traffic is detoured to Brookside Road. Once the paving is completed on Old Brookside Road, crews will begin paving Willow Avenue. All scheduled paving should be completed by the end of today.

Updated September 16, 2019:
The paving of Lawrence Road (between Center Grove Road and Edinburgh Drive) was completed today. The paving of Muskier Road (between Sussex Turnpike and Knightsbridge) and Phyllis Road (from Arthur Lane to the dead end) will be completed by the end of today. Tomorrow, September 17, paving will begin on Old Coach Road, Wick Lane and Colonial Court. The paving of Old Brookside Road will take place later this week. Please allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route.

Updated September 13, 2019:
The paving of Mac Spar Drive was completed today. Lawrence Road (between Center Grove Road and Edinburgh Drive) was paved halfway today and will be completed on Monday. Once the paving of Lawrence Road is completed on Monday, they will move on to pave Willow Avenue, Musiker Road (between Sussex Turnpike and Knightsbridge Drive) and Phyllis Road (from Arthur Lane to the dead end). During the milling and paving process, motorists should allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route. As always, emergency vehicles will always be allowed to pass through the construction area.

The milling of Old Coach Road, Colonial Court, Wick Lane and Old Brookside Road was completed today; these roads will be paved next week. The paving of Lawrence Road (between Center Grove Road and Edinburgh Drive), Mac Spar Drive and Willow Avenue will take place tomorrow, September 13, beginning with Mac Spar Drive. During the milling and paving process, motorists should allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route. Emergency vehicles will always be allowed to pass through the construction area.

Milling was completed today on Musiker Road (between Sussex Turnpike and Knightsbridge Drive) and Phyllis Road (from Arthur Lane to the dead end); these two roads will be paved later this week or early next week. The paving of Morris Turnpike (between Canfield Avenue and Dover Chester Road) will be completed this afternoon. The paving of Lawrence Road (between Center Grove Road and Edinburgh Drive), Mac Spar Drive and Willow Avenue will take place on Friday due to the forecasted rain on Thursday. The milling of Wick Lane began today and is expected to be completed this afternoon. The milling of Old Coach Road, Colonial Court and Old Brookside Road will begin tomorrow, September 12. During the milling and paving process, motorists should allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route. Emergency vehicles will always be allowed to pass through the construction area.

Milling was completed today on Mac Spar Drive and Willow Avenue; these roads will be paved later this week. The paving of Sanford Drive, Stonehill Road and Sharon Street will be completed by the end of the day. Tomorrow, September 11, 2019, Morris Turnpike (between Canfield Avenue and Dover Chester Road) will be paved and the road will be closed with detours in place. Crews will then move to Lawrence Road to pave between Center Grove Road and Edinburgh Drive. Milling will begin on Musiker Road (between Sussex Turnpike and Knightsbridge Drive) and Phyllis Road (from Arthur Lane to the dead end).

Today the contractor completed the milling on Morris Turnpike and Lawrence Road; these roads will be paved later this week. Tomorrow, September 10, 2019, Mac Spar Drive and Willow Avenue will be milled, and paving will begin on Sanford Drive, Stonehill Road and Sharon Street. There will be a flagger at each end of the roads being milled and paved to inform motorists of detours. During the milling and paving process, motorists should allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route. Emergency vehicles will always be allowed to pass through the construction area.

On Monday, September 9, 2019, crews will be milling Lawrence Road (from Center Grove Road to Edinburgh Drive), Mac Spar Drive and Willow Avenue. Please allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route.

The contractor milled Park Avenue (between Pleasant Hill Road and the pond bridge) this morning and is now milling Sanford Drive, Stonehill Road and Sharon Street. Park Avenue (between Pleasant Hill and the pond bridge) will be paved Friday morning, September 6, beginning at 7:00 a.m.; that section of Park Avenue will be closed to traffic for a few hours. Milling on Morris Turnpike (between Canfield Avenue and Dover Chester Road) will begin on Friday, September 6, provided that the roads currently being milled are completed today. If time allows on Friday, milling will begin on Lawrence Road. During the milling and paving process, motorists should allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route. Milling and paving will begin on Park Avenue on Thursday, September 5, 2019, weather permitting. Resurfacing will take place on the roads below in the approximate order listed. The entire road resurfacing project is expected to take two weeks. During the milling and paving process, motorists should allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route.
