Stay Connected to the Township and County in an Emergency
Posted: August 23, 2019
The township and county offer many ways for you to be contacted in the event of severe weather or other emergencies.
County Services
Smart911 allows residents to create a safety profile at smart911.com for their household that includes vital information that you want 9-1-1 call takers and emergency responders to have in the event of an emergency. Residents can offer as much or as little personal or business information as they wish. Do you have a disabled person living in your home? Will first responders encounter an aggressive pet? Where is the shut-off valve to your natural gas flow?
Smart 911 is FREE; your information is secure and accessible only to a 9-1-1 call taker. This service can provide key information to responders that can make your family safer.
Morris County has moved to a new emergency alert system called AlertMorris. With AlertMorris, you can receive emergency alerts by whatever method of communication you prefer: e-mail, text, phone or social media. Morris County’s social media alert accounts on Facebook and Twitter, @MCUrgent, have changed their names to @AlertMorris. Get updates from OEM and multi-jurisdictional emergency alerts through your favorite social media platform! If you had already signed up for @MCUrgent, there’s nothing to do—you’ll see @AlertMorris in your Facebook and Twitter feeds. Otherwise, follow @AlertMorris today on Facebook and Twitter!
For questions about AlertMorris or Smart911 contact the Randolph Township Police Department or the Morris County Office of Emergency Management at 973.829.8600.
